Should We Give Donald Trump a Chance? | The Resistance with Keith Olberm...
Should we give him a chance?? Absolutely not, in the past week since he started assembling his cabinet he has elected to give a voice to some very racist individuals who have a proven track record to go along with the label I'm giving them. Everyone in America had something to do with helping Trump getting elected whether it was failing to get behind Clinton (or Johnson/Stein), voting write-in, or voting directly for Trump. As an American, the past month has made more such ashamed to be an American. I used to love saying I'm an American but I don't any more. Now, I live in a country that just elected to choose sexism, racism, and xenophobia ahead of political interests. That is fucking sad. But should we give him a chance?? To do what?? Further harbor sexist, racist, and xenophobic ideologies for four more years-- I don't think so. I encourage everyone to protest this worthless piece of shit our country has chosen to elect. If you can't protest, talk about it with other people (engage in civil discourse and let people know that this is not acceptable) either by blogging, vblogging, facebook, writing editorials, or any other way to let people know this is not acceptable. You can also contact your elected representatives. If you think we should give him a chance-- you can go fuck yourself because your enabling his behavior and you become exactly what is wrong with America!
AMERICA -- YOU HAVE FINALLY FAILED US!!
I wish our country would separate into different countries. Obviously, we don't want to be a country any more. More than half the voting population voted for the most part one of two ways. So, why don't we divide the country up into two separate countries or just move to individual states because the idea of democracy isn't working. We can't seem to get along because while in the backs of our minds-- we seem to have little to no regard for the others views. For example, I personally will always think that anyone who voted for Trump is a racists and a sexist.
I've never been more ashamed to the American and am currently. The United States has elected for their president the true vial and disgusting human being. The most disturbing fact is that 50% of the eligible voting population could be bothered to go to the voting booth on November 7, 2016. Whether it was the result of apathy or laziness, its very fucking sad that for just once every four years we ask people to somewhat pay attention to the political system which affects the world around them and they can't even be bothered to do that. Even if they think there vote doesn't count, it should be a reorientation of the direction they would like to see the nation move in. But Americans are too lazy.
To the people who did vote, those people were also very lazy this year. If you failed to do any independent research on the candidate you were supporting, you were lazy. It is not hard to do basic research beyond watching the mainstream media. For example, if you wanted to get to know the character of our current president elect, you could have followed him on twitter and seen the shit he was saying. You could have seen the contradictions he constantly made, the insults he hurled, or seen his interactions he made on there and use those as a judgement for his character. You could have also followed all the other candidates on social media platforms to judge there character if you didn't want to follow the media but you didn't.
If you did choose to watch the mainstream media, you would have heard the shit Trump was saying. You might have heard the multiple horrible things he said. He fucking normalized sexual assault and all you people want to do is make "grab her by the pussy" jokes. He went so far as to dismiss it as "locker room talk" and you fucking idiots bought it. HE WASN'T IN A FUCKING LOCKER ROOM!!! HE WAS IN A WORKPLACE AT THE TIME!!! What he did there was condone sexual assault and harassment in America and you people bought it and accepted it!
The fact is that we have not learned from our mistakes as a country. A Trump presidency will rank right up there with that of Andrew Jackson and the vileness of Aaron Burr. This is not a liberal thing -- this is an America you are fucking stupid and lazy thing. I'm calling out all of America (myself included in this). If you didn't vote (with the exception of those who couldn't) you are part of the problem. If you voted for Clinton, Stein, or Johnson -- you at least used your ballot to try to stop someone with no morals whatsoever from getting in the White House. However, you also failed because we didn't come together on our ideas which though a lot where different a lot were concurrent. If you voted for Trump, you failed our country. It means you were able to look past every questionable moral aspect of Trump and still endorse him anyway. You could have voted third party to deny Clinton votes but you choose to vote for him anyway. You voted with the KKK and the Nazi party. I don't care if the GOP rejected that endorsement; they got it anyway and you voted with it. You voted for someone who has normalized sexual assault on camera at the workplace. You voted for someone who literally was in bed with Russia to get elected. If you voted for Trump, YOU FAILED AMERICA!!!!
So, from here on out-- until things change, I will not be considering myself a proud American because we are not a nation to be proud of. We are a nation who elects leaders like Trump who elects to have this cabinet members be racists like Steve Bannon and yet you people still aren't going to speak up and protest. So you know what-- if you are going to elect sexist and racists at our leaders, I will never be a proud American.
